Meeting #2- Scheduling Hikes

The second meeting of the Lee County Hiking Club was held at Cumberland Bowl Park this evening.  Three hikes were scheduled.  


WILDERNESS ROAD TRAIL HIKE 

Hike leader:  Bob

Date: May 4
Meet Up:  9:00 AM at parking lot on right 3 miles west of Ewing.
Description:  The plan is to do a portion of this trail from Eastern trail-head to visitor center at Wilderness Road Park.  Approximately 2 miles.  This is a rails to trails path; hike rating easy.

TRI-STATE TRAIL

Meet Up:  9:00 AM at Daniel Boone Parking Lot on right after turning toward town of Cumberland Gap
Description:  A 1.2 mile out and back trail for a total of nearly 2 1/2 miles.  Hike rating easy to moderate.

KEOKEE LOOP TRAIL

Organizational Meeting

The organizational meeting of the Lee County Hiking Club was held at LHS auditorium on April 23, 2013.  At this meeting, Teresa Kennedy, organizer, led the discussion concerning the the formation of the club.  Members shared desires and goals for the club, information about responsible hiking, as well as information about possible hikes.  Four hiking leaders were selected.  The next meeting is set for Tuesday, April 30, 6:30 PM at Cumberland Bowl Park.
